Thom provides advice and litigates on the spatial planning aspects of project development, transaction and property management.
Thom Groot joined STIJL Advocaten as an attorney on 1 July 2016. Thom is specialised in spatial planning law. He provides advice and litigates in relation to the spatial planning aspects of project development, transaction and property management, such as permits and zoning plans.
Thom has registered the following legal areas in the register of legal areas of the Netherlands Bar:
– Procurement law
– Environmental law
According to the standards of the Netherlands Bar the registration obliges him to obtain ten training credits per year in each of the registered legal areas.
Thom graduated at the University of Amsterdam in 2014, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law (cum laude) and subsequently his Master’s degree in Public Law. Furthermore, in 2013, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with the specialisation International Relations.
Thom worked for the Council of State from February 2014 until July 2016, first at the Law Committee of the European Union and subsequently (during one and a half year) at the Administrative Law Division of the Council of State (Spatial Planning Unit).
