Taco has a consultancy and litigation practice specialising in sustainability, area development, public-private partnerships and (European) procurement and state aid law.

Taco advises and litigates for project developers, investors, energy companies, municipalities, housing corporations and listed companies. Taco has extensive advisory experience in the field of large inner city redevelopments, sustainable energy projects and real estate related corporate law. In these areas he assists clients in negotiations and advises on the legal form of cooperation.

Taco has registered the following areas of law in the Register of Jurisdictions of the Netherlands Bar Association:

• Real estate law / Construction law
• Tender law

This registration obliges him to earn ten training points each calendar year in each registered area of law according to the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association.

Taco previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Loyens & Loeff, where he worked at the Practice Groups Real Estate and Business Law and Litigation.

Taco is listed in the Chambers EMEA 2023 als “ranked lawyer”. Chambers EMEA 2023 states: “Taco Hovius has extensive experience assisting developers, investors and municipalities with contentious and non-contentious urban redevelopment matters. He is a member of the Construction Lawyers Association, the Construction Law Association, the Dutch Association for Procurement Law and ELSA Alumni. He completed the Grotius post-graduate course in Real Estate (cum laude). He publishes in magazines as Advocatenblad and Bouwrecht. Taco is co-author of the Sustainable Construction Practice Book of the Institute for Construction Law, the publication Legal implications of climate change: the case for circularity and of the Intellectual Property Rights in Construction law Practice Book of the Institute for Construction Law.

Taco is chairman of the F.H. Piket Foundation, a foundation that aims to promote and support the artistic climate in The Hague. Taco is also board member of the Mondriaan Business Club Foundation, Art Museum The Hague.
