Taco provides advice to and takes legal action on behalf of project developers, investors, energy companies, municipalities, housing corporations and listed companies.
Taco Hovius has an advice and litigation practice and is specialised in area development, public-private partnerships and (European) procurement and state aid law. Taco has extensive experience in the field of large urban redevelopments, wind turbine projects and property-related company law. In these areas, he assists clients in negotiations, he provides advice on the legal partnership structure and he lays down the agreements reached in contracts.
Taco has registered the following legal areas in the register of legal areas of the Netherlands Bar:

– Procurement law
According to the standards of the Netherlands Bar the registration obliges him to obtain ten training credits per year in each of the registered legal areas.
Previously, Taco worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Loyens & Loeff, where he was active in the Real Estate law, Company law and Procedural law Departments.
Taco is listed in the Chambers EMEA 2019 as “ranked lawyer”. Chambers EMEA 2019 describes: ” Taco Hovius is admired by clients for his “effectiveness, technical knowledge and commercial skills.” His practice encompasses project development, lease agreements and environmental law. He completed the Grotius postgraduate training programme on Real Estate (cum laude). He publishes, amongst others, in the Advocatenblad (Lawyers’ magazine) and is co-author of the book “Nieuw huurrecht bedrijfsruimte” [New rent law on business premises].
Taco is ambassador of the Climate-Proof City, part of the Delta new constructions and restructuring programme of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment. Taco is the president of Stichting mr. F.H. Piket, a foundation, which has the objective to promote and support the artistic climate in The Hague. Furthermore, Taco is secretary of the Stichting Mondriaan Business Club, Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (Mondriaan Business Club Foundation, Municipal Museum of The Hague).
