Emma specialises in professional liability of professional service providers and civil property law.
Areas of interest
Emma frequently litigates in the field of professional liability of professional service providers. She works on behalf of insurers and their insureds. This usually involves assisting notaries, lawyers, architects, estate agents and tax advisers. Emma also works in the civil real estate practice, where she focuses, among other things, on advising and litigating on area and project development and the purchase and sale of real estate.

Emma has registered the following area of law in the Register of Jurisdictions of the Netherlands Bar Association:
- Civil procedural law
This registration obliges her to earn ten training points in each registered area of law each calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association.
Details
Emma obtained her Masters in private law and criminal law from VU University Amsterdam. During her studies, she completed several internships in the legal profession and worked for a medium-sized law firm, among others. Before joining Stijl Advocaten in 2017, Emma gained experience as a legal executive at an international company and as a legal assistant at a specialised real estate firm.
Emma occasionally provides lectures and courses on professional liability for notaries. Emma is co-author of the Institute for Construction Law’s Praktijkboek Duurzaam Bouwen (Sustainable Construction Practice Book).
