Wouter gained extensive experience as a corporate lawyer and is specialised in consultancy and litigation in civil real estate.
Wouter den Harder is active in the civil law real estate practice with special attention for construction law, rent law and property law. In this context, Wouter focuses on litigation in respect of various building- and real estate-related issues, both before the courts and the arbitration board.
Wouter has registered the following legal areas in the register of legal areas of the Netherlands Bar:
– Real estate law / Construction law
– Civil procedural law
According to the standards of the Netherlands Bar the registration obliges him to obtain ten training credits per year in each of the registered legal areas.
In 2001, Wouter graduated ‘with merit’ at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Subsequently, he was employed as a corporate attorney at ProRail, Rijkswaterstaat (Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management) and the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer. In these places, Wouter gained broad experience in contracting (public-private partnerships, DB(F)MO) and in providing advice on (infrastructural) building projects and management of existing real property.
In 2008, Wouter was sworn in as an attorney and practiced, amongst others, at one of the largest law firms in the Netherlands. At STIJL Advocaten, he has a combined consultancy and litigation practice. He assists investors, project developers, landlords, municipalities and housing corporations.
In 2013, Wouter completed the Grotius postgraduate specialisation in Real Estate law. Furthermore, he frequently publishes on the developments in the case law, related to his field. Additionally, Wouter is active within a number of associations.
